Scientific Games’ SCiQ Technology Provides Retail, Supply Chain Enhancements to North Carolina Education Lottery

Scientific Games has initiated the deployment of its cutting-edge SCiQ retail technology across North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) retailers, a strategic move aimed at enhancing the retail system for Scratch-Off games. This rollout will see the installation of 1,000 SCiQ units at various lottery retailers throughout the state, reinforcing NCEL’s commitment to modernizing its operations.
In fiscal year 2024, NCEL Scratch-Off games generated impressive retail sales exceeding $2.9 billion, positioning the Lottery among the top 15 globally in terms of performance for instant game lotteries. This remarkable achievement evidences the demand and potential for further innovations in the lottery sector.
SCiQ is poised to optimize supply chain efficiency, significantly boosting Scratch-Off game sales by providing real-time inventory management data. This data enhances the functionality of Scientific Games’ SciTrak predictive ordering system utilized by NCEL, ensuring that retailers have the right products available at the right time.
Michael Martin, Vice President of Retail Solutions at Scientific Games, stated:
“We applaud the NCEL team for their foresight in recognizing the necessity for advanced technology that streamlines the management and sales processes for Scratch-Off games. Scientific Games is excited to deliver added value to our partnership with NCEL through the SCiQ system and looks forward to collaborating with NCEL retailers to simplify and enhance the sales process for Scratch-Offs.”
