RØKKR Drop PaulEhx After Major 2 Call of Duty Results

Minnesota RØKKR has announced the release of Paul “PaulEhx” Avila from their active Call of Duty esports roster after a tenure of just under five months. This decision comes in the wake of the team’s underwhelming performance at the Call of Duty League (CDL) 2025 Major 2, where RØKKR found themselves ranking ninth to twelfth.
PaulEhx’s departure marks the first roster modification since RØKKR finalized its lineup for the 2025 season, which included notable players from the former Las Vegas Legion team, Dylan “Nero” Koch and Giovanni “Gio” Webster, alongside PaulEhx and Justice “Estreal” McMillan, who was the sole holdover from the 2024 roster.
In a heartfelt announcement shared via social media, the team expressed gratitude for PaulEhx’s contributions:
Today we say goodbye to @PaulEhx_

The newly formed squad had a promising start to the year, reaching the semifinals of CDL 2025 Minor 1 and finishing fifth to sixth in Major 1 after a tough match against the Miami Heretics, who advanced to the lower bracket finals. However, the trajectory of the team has since declined markedly. RØKKR finished ninth to twelfth in the CDL 2025 Minor 2 and secured only seventh place during the Major 2 qualifiers. Their recent performance culminated in a disappointing round-one exit from the Major 2 event, suffering two consecutive 0-3 defeats against prominent teams, Atlanta FaZe and OpTic Texas.
This downturn has resulted in RØKKR falling to tenth place in the 2025 CDL season standings, accumulating 90 CDL points, leaving them just 10 points shy of breaking into the top eight that would qualify them for the prestigious CDL Championship 2025.
While the overall performance of the roster is under scrutiny, PaulEhx’s individual statistics were particularly concerning. He concluded Stage 2 with a K/D ratio of 0.85, which included averages of 0.88 in Control, 0.83 in Hardpoint, and 0.90 in Search & Destroy. Comparatively, fellow teammate Nero recorded a K/D average of 0.91, with Gio leading the team at 1.04 and Estreal finishing with an impressive 1.12 K/D.
The question now is who will step in to fill the void left by the 23-year-old player. Speculation suggests that two assault rifle players, Tyler “FeLo” Johnson and Kenneth “Kenny” Williams, have emerged as potential replacements, though no official announcements have been made at this time.
Minnesota RØKKR is set to return to competition on April 4, facing off against OpTic Texas in the opening week of the CDL 2025 Major 3 Qualifiers. As the season progresses, the team will be looking to revitalize their strategy and rekindle their trajectory toward success.
