NZ gambling influencers, PropSwap-Bally Bet

Welcome to the Weekend Report, where iGB delves into the notable developments in the gambling industry that you may have overlooked over the weekend.
New Zealand Authorities Crack Down on Gambling Influencers
In a significant move to regulate online gambling, New Zealand authorities are intensifying their scrutiny of social media influencers who are promoting unauthorized offshore gambling sites. The Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) has issued its first takedown notices against influencers endorsing illegal gambling operators, warning of severe consequences for non-compliance.
The New Zealand Gambling Act explicitly prohibits the advertisement of offshore, unlicensed gambling services. “We’ve been investigating this thoroughly,” stated Vicki Scott, Director of Gambling Regulatory Services. “Actions will be taken against influencers who openly disregard the law.” This initiative underscores the increasing importance of compliance within the rapidly evolving landscape of online gambling regulations.
Malta Regulator Issues Warning on Illegal Gambling Websites
Meanwhile, the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) is stepping up its efforts to combat illegal gambling operations within its jurisdiction. In a recent statement, the MGA identified multiple unauthorized websites masquerading as licensed operators, all misusing the God brand’s name.
“We remind consumers to ensure that any gambling provider is authorized by the MGA before engaging with their services,” the regulator cautioned. “Transactions with unlicensed platforms lack essential regulatory protections, exposing consumers to significant risks.” This vigilant stance highlights the MGA’s commitment to maintaining a secure gaming environment for players.
PropSwap Signs Multi-Property Sportsbook Agreement with Bally Bet
In a notable partnership, PropSwap has entered into a multi-property sportsbook collaboration with Bally Bet in Mississippi, effective March 27. This agreement designates Bally Bet as PropSwap’s preferred sportsbook within the state.
Under this partnership, both PropSwap and two Bally Bet locations – Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Biloxi and Bally’s Vicksburg – will roll out joint initiatives aimed at attracting a new customer base. Customers will be encouraged to wager with the innovative option of selling their tickets for profit before the final outcome.
“We are fundamentally transforming how individuals approach sports wagering,” asserted PropSwap CEO Luke Pergande. “Bettors no longer need to rely solely on winning; they can simply capitalize on the increasing value of their wagers. This paradigm shift is groundbreaking, and we are thrilled that Bally Bet shares this forward-thinking vision.”
