Mike Dreitzer Tapped as Next Chairman of Nevada Gaming Control Board

Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo has appointed Mike Dreitzer as the new Chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB), following the planned resignation of Chairman Kirk Hendrick after the 2025 Legislative Session. This strategic move comes as the state seeks to navigate the complexities and innovations of the ever-evolving gaming landscape.
“As we prepare for this transition, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Chairman Hendrick for his dedicated service and partnership,” Governor Lombardo stated. “Under his guidance, the NGCB has successfully streamlined bureaucratic processes while championing modernization and innovative practices in Nevada’s gaming sector.”
The Governor expressed confidence in Dreitzer’s capabilities, stating, “I’m pleased to announce Mike Dreitzer as the incoming Chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board. His extensive background in gaming compliance and over three decades of industry experience are invaluable assets for our state. I am confident that he will lead the Board with integrity, continuing the momentum of innovation and progress established by his predecessor.”
Mike Dreitzer most recently served as the Chief Executive Officer of Gaming Arts, LLC, a prominent gaming equipment supplier holding over 150 gaming licenses. To ensure a smooth transition, Dreitzer will remain with Gaming Arts until he officially begins his role at the NGCB on June 23.
“I am deeply honored to be appointed as Chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, and I sincerely thank Governor Lombardo for his trust,” expressed Dreitzer. “I look forward to advancing the Board’s essential mission and supporting its dedicated agents and staff in maintaining the highest standards of gaming regulation in Nevada.”
Mike Dreitzer’s Extensive Experience in the Gaming Industry
Before his tenure at Gaming Arts, Dreitzer held key positions in notable organizations, including serving as President of the North America Division for Ainsworth Game Technology, Inc., and as Chief Operating Officer of BMM Americas—a global consultancy and testing laboratory renowned for its role in gaming regulation.
In addition to his corporate leadership roles, Dreitzer co-founded G3, a gaming content company, and worked with Progressive Gaming International Corporation. His legal expertise is underscored by his experience as a Deputy Attorney General in the Nevada Office of the Attorney General, where he provided legal counsel for both the Nevada Gaming Commission and the NGCB.
Dreitzer’s educational background includes an undergraduate degree from Cornell University and a law degree from Emory University, further solidifying his qualifications for this critical regulatory role.
Outgoing Chairman Kirk Hendrick remarked on the transition, stating, “I cannot thank Governor Lombardo enough for allowing me to lead the Nevada Gaming Control Board. Collaborating with fellow board members and dedicated staff has been the pinnacle of my public service career. With the legislative session drawing to a close, I am eager to accomplish more for the State of Nevada.” He added, “The transition to Chairman Mike Dreitzer will be seamless. We have known each other for nearly 30 years, dating back to our early days in the Attorney General’s Office. Mike’s extensive experience in gaming law and regulatory compliance makes him the perfect choice to lead the Board into its next chapter.”
Hendrick’s resignation is set to take effect on June 22, paving the way for Dreitzer to step into this critical leadership position as Nevada continues to adapt and thrive in the competitive arena of gaming.
