Legendary jockey Frankie Dettori has officially joined Stake as its global ambassador, marking a significant partnership in the world of online betting.

At 54, Dettori is celebrated as one of the greatest riders in history, boasting an illustrious career spanning from 1987 to 2023. He has secured 23 British Classics and amassed an impressive total of 287 Group 1 victories. His retirement announcement in December 2022 was short-lived, and by October of the following year, Dettori had relocated to California to embark on new ventures in the United States and the international circuit.

Expressing enthusiasm for his new role, Dettori stated, “I am thrilled to work with Stake and be part of such a dynamic and innovative team. They have established a strong presence in the sports domain, collaborating with some of the most prominent athletes and teams. I eagerly anticipate what lies ahead!”

During Derby Week at Churchill Downs, Dettori made three appearances but did not clinch a victory. Notably, he was absent from the Kentucky Derby, which generated the highest betting handle in the event’s history.

Stake’s Distinguished Global Ambassadorial Roster

Dettori joins an impressive lineup of ambassadors for Stake, a leading player in the crypto sportsbook sphere since its inception in 2017. The roster features notable names from diverse sports, including:

  • Sergio Aguero (Soccer)
  • Israel Adesanya (MMA)
  • Drake (Music)
  • Everton Football Club (Soccer)
  • Alex Pereira (MMA)
  • Alexandre Pantoja (MMA)
  • Valentina Shevchenko (MMA)
  • Merab Dvalishvili (MMA)
  • Sauber Motorsport (Formula One)

Akhil Sarin, Chief Marketing Officer at Stake, commented on Dettori’s addition: “Frankie is not just a monumental figure in horse racing; his influence transcends the sport itself. His unparalleled achievements and captivating personality make us thrilled to welcome him to the Stake team.”

Dettori’s success has transformed him into a cultural icon, drawing attention to horse racing from audiences who may have previously overlooked the sport. His prominence extended beyond racing, as he hosted national TV shows in Britain, starred in reality programs, launched a line of Italian culinary products, and opened restaurants in London.

Remarkably, on Santa Anita Derby Day last year, Dettori rode six successive winners, with cumulative odds surpassing 77,000-1. His historical feat at the 1996 British Festival of Racing, where he won all seven races on the card at combined odds of 25,095-1, significantly impacted the betting industry, costing approximately £40 million.

As Stake continues to expand its influence in the betting arena, the partnership with Frankie Dettori underscores its commitment to engaging fans and elevating the overall gambling experience.
