Perfect World, a prominent organiser in the Chinese esports landscape, has unveiled critical information regarding the highly anticipated CS Asia Championships 2025. Set to unfold in Shanghai from October 14 to 19, 2025, this tournament promises to elevate the competitive scene with a staggering total prize pool of $1,000,000.

Originally slated for October 1–13, the CS Asia Championships 2025 recently adjusted its schedule to avoid a clash with ESL Pro League Season 22. Consequently, it now coincides with several other major events, including the Thunderpick World Championship 2025 (October 15–19), Roobet Cup 2025 (October 13–22), and MENSA Nomadic Masters Fall 2025 (October 15–19).

Key Details of CS Asia Championships 2025:

  • Date: October 14-19, 2025
  • Location: Shanghai Oriental Sports Centre, Shanghai, China
  • Total Prize Pool: $1,000,000
  • Teams: 16 Counter-Strike 2 teams

The tournament will feature a competitive format, inviting 10 teams based on the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) update set for July 25. The remaining six places will be filled through regional qualifiers across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, scheduled for July and August. Notably, the Asian qualifiers will be conducted on LAN in Shanghai, fostering a vibrant in-person atmosphere.

Tournament Structure:

The competition will unfold in two stages: the group stage and playoffs. During the group stage, which runs from October 14 to 16, teams will be divided into double-elimination groups of eight. The top three teams from each group will advance, with group winners receiving a direct bye to the semifinals, while the remaining teams move to the quarterfinals.

Playoffs will occur from October 17 to 19, employing a single-elimination format. The grand finals will be a best-of-five showdown, ensuring an exhilarating conclusion to the event, while all other playoff matches, including the third-place decider, will follow a best-of-three format.

This iteration of the CS Asia Championships is poised for success, doubling the prize pool from the inaugural 2023 event. With its appealing structure and substantial rewards, the tournament aims to captivate both competitors and audiences, further solidifying the presence of esports within the global sports ecosystem.

Stay tuned for more updates as we approach this thrilling event in the esports calendar!
