CDL Championship 2025 Teams Announced
Following the conclusion of the Call of Duty League (CDL) 2025 Stage 4 Major, the league formally announced the final roster of eight contestants for the CDL Championship 2025.
In a thrilling showdown held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, the Los Angeles Thieves clinched their second CDL Major title, defeating Atlanta FaZe with a score of 4-2. This victory not only marks a significant achievement for the Thieves but also signals the conclusion of the CDC 2025 season’s final stage, laying to rest the competition for crucial CDL Championship 2025 points that determine invites to the season’s ultimate event.
Championship Contenders
Prior to the pivotal fourth Major, four teams—Los Angeles Thieves, Atlanta FaZe, Toronto Ultra, and Vancouver Surge—had secured their coveted spots in the CDL Championship 2025. This left four additional places available, setting the stage for an intense race among six teams, excluding the Vegas Falcons and Los Angeles Guerrillas.
The stakes were particularly high for Cloud9 New York and Minnesota RØKKR. Both teams faced immense pressure and needed outstanding performances to retain their championship aspirations. Unfortunately, neither team lived up to expectations during the tournament.
Cloud9 New York’s Disappointing Run
Cloud9 New York suffered an early exit from the competition, failing to secure a single victory. Their elimination came swiftly with losses to formidable opponents Atlanta FaZe and Los Angeles Guerrillas M8.
Minnesota RØKKR’s Slight Success
In stark contrast, Minnesota RØKKR demonstrated marginally better performance, managing to progress to the third stage of the lower bracket. However, they were ultimately outclassed by OpTic Texas, finishing the tournament with a meager 30 CDL points and a consolation prize of USD 15,000.
With both teams unable to mount the hoped-for Cinderella runs, the path to the CDL Championship 2025 was finalized. The remaining teams turned their focus to solidifying advantageous seedings as they prepared for the next phase.
Upcoming Championship Event
With the conclusion of CDL 2025 Major 4, the eight qualifying teams now have a month to prepare for the championship showdown at Kitchener Memorial Auditorium in Kitchener, Canada. They will compete for the prestigious title of CoD: Black Ops 6 World Champions, with the CDL 2025 Championship set to officially commence on June 26, 2025.
