Reports from O Globo indicate that Alcolumbre is committed to pushing for the legalization of land-based gambling, echoing the aspirations of Brazil’s Tourism Minister, Celso Sabino, who anticipates Senate approval for casinos by mid-2025. In addition to Alcolumbre’s election, Hugo Motta has been appointed President of the Chamber of Deputies, following the endorsement of outgoing President, Arthur Lira, another prominent supporter of gambling reform.
