Boyd Gaming Breaks Ground on Cadence Crossing Casino in Nevada

Boyd Gaming has officially commenced development on Cadence Crossing Casino, marking an exciting expansion of its portfolio in Southern Nevada. This new venue is set to encompass 10,000 square feet, featuring an array of entertainment options including multiple restaurants designed to enhance the guest experience.
Strategically situated on Boulder Highway, adjacent to the thriving master-planned community of Cadence, Cadence Crossing is poised to offer a contemporary casino experience. The facility plans to include 450 state-of-the-art slot machines and a diverse selection of food and beverage options, catering to a wide range of tastes and preferences.
Scheduled for completion in mid-2026, Cadence Crossing will succeed the 33-year-old Jokers Wild Casino in Henderson, which will remain operational until the new property opens its doors. Upon the launch of Cadence Crossing, Jokers Wild will be demolished to accommodate additional parking facilities for the new casino.
A formal groundbreaking ceremony took place on-site, attended by Boyd Gaming’s senior leadership and notable officials from the City of Henderson. Key participants included Marianne Johnson, Executive Chairman of Boyd Gaming; Keith Smith, President and CEO; Ted Bogich, Chief Operating Officer; and Steve Schutte, Executive Vice President of Operations, along with Henderson Mayor Michelle Romero.
“As we commemorate Boyd’s 50th year in the business, we are thrilled to break ground on our latest entertainment destination in the Las Vegas Valley,” stated Schutte. “Cadence Crossing will empower us to better serve the rapidly expanding Cadence community and bolster our footprint in Henderson as the area continues to develop.”
Boyd Gaming initially unveiled the plans for Cadence Crossing during its second-quarter earnings call in July. The company’s investment strategy also includes a $100 million capital expenditure allocation for renovations at various out-of-state properties, highlighting its commitment to growth and innovation in the gaming sector.
Mayor Michelle Romero expressed her enthusiasm at the groundbreaking event, saying, “I’m delighted to participate in the commencement of this remarkable project. It’s a reminder of my long-standing connection to this area, as I recall when Jokers Wild originally opened. Our recent efforts on the Boulder Highway project, backed by a $170 million investment over 7.5 miles, will positively impact many aspects of our community.”
In addition to the development of Cadence Crossing, Boyd Gaming continues to solidify its presence in the industry through strategic partnerships. The company holds a 5% equity stake in FanDuel Group, the premier sports betting operator in the United States, and serves as the official local casino partner of the Las Vegas Raiders, illustrating its commitment to enhancing the gaming landscape across Nevada and beyond.
This strategic investment in Cadence Crossing Casino not only reflects Boyd Gaming’s dedication to meeting the evolving demands of the gaming industry but also underscores its role in fostering community growth and economic development in Southern Nevada. With a focus on modernization and customer experience, the new facility is likely to set a benchmark for future gaming establishments in the region.
