Day three of the BLAST.tv Austin Major showcased intense competition and dramatic outcomes as we approach the conclusion of Stage 1. Complexity, Imperial Esports, and Chinggis Warriors faced elimination, while OG, BetBoom Team, and Nemiga Gaming successfully secured their spots in Stage 2.

Complexity’s Disappointing Campaign Concludes

Complexity exited the Major on a sour note following a 0-2 defeat against TYLOO. The absence of AWPer Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli, due to visa complications, forced Complexity to adapt by bringing in Paytyn “junior” Johnson. Unfortunately, the shift did not yield the desired success throughout the event.

While Michael “Grim” Wince delivered some bright individual performances and the team started strong on Train, Complexity struggled to maintain their defensive composure. TYLOO capitalized on these lapses, dominating control across both maps and sending the North American Counter-Strike 2 squad home.

Legacy Triumphs in South American Showdown

Imperial Esports also faced exit after a closely contested match against Legacy. Despite a rocky start to Stage 1, Imperial briefly ignited hope with a victory over Metizport. However, Legacy, which advanced to the event due to BESTIA’s visa issues, proved to be a formidable opponent in the decisive match. Eduardo “dumau” Wolkmer shone brightly, achieving an impressive 2.15 rating in the final map to hand Imperial their exit.

Lynn Vision Outlasts Chinggis Warriors

The Chinggis Warriors succumbed to a nail-biting series against China’s Lynn Vision Gaming. After a back-and-forth exchange across the maps, the final match on Ancient was a rollercoaster of errors and clutch plays. Junjie “EmiliaQAQ” Tang executed the critical blow during overtime, ultimately sidelining the Mongolian team.

OG, BetBoom, and Nemiga Progress to Stage 2

In contrast, three teams emerged victorious and advanced to Stage 2. OG exhibited dominance with a convincing 2-0 sweep over NRG, highlighted by Christoffer “Chr1zN” Storgaard’s exceptional 1.71 series rating. BetBoom managed to endure two overtimes against Wildcard, with Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov securing victory in their first LAN appearance together. Simultaneously, Nemiga Gaming staged impressive comebacks on both Ancient and Inferno to upset FlyQuest, fueled by standout performances from Beksultan “khaN” Ospan and Ivan “zweih” Gogin.

With three qualifying spots still available, the final day of Stage 1 promises electrifying competition, featuring six teams—NRG, Wildcard, FlyQuest, Legacy, TYLOO, and Lynn Vision—competing in best-of-three deciders. Only the victors will progress, while the others face elimination.
