The second day of the BLAST.tv Austin Major showcased intense competition and strategic maneuvers, leading to significant developments as two formidable teams secured their spots in Stage 2, while two others faced quick elimination.

HEROIC & B8 Secure Stage 2 Advancement

HEROIC emerged as one of the first Counter-Strike 2 teams to advance after a challenging 2-1 victory over FlyQuest. The Danish-majority lineup exhibited a strong start with a 13-7 win on Ancient, where Andrey “tN1R” Tatarinovich showcased an impressive counter-terrorist performance.

Despite the defeat, FlyQuest mounted a comeback on Anubis, clinching a narrow 13-11 win. However, HEROIC regained their momentum in the deciding match on Mirage, where they dominated with a convincing 13-6 scoreline to secure advancement.

B8 also made headlines, overcoming Wildcard in a 2-1 series, marking their inaugural top-24 Major appearance. After a close loss on Train (14-16), the Ukrainian squad rebounded with outstanding victories on Dust2 (13-6) and Inferno (13-2). Daniil “headtr1ck” Valitov played a crucial role in the team’s triumph, displaying exceptional talent alongside Alexey “alex666” Yarmoshchuk and Dmytro “esenthial” Tsvir, who stabilized key sites effectively on Inferno.

NRG on the Brink of Qualification; Complexity in Peril

In a critical North American face-off, NRG triumphed over Complexity with a 13-9 victory on Inferno, placing them one step closer to Stage 2. Conversely, Complexity finds themselves on the brink of elimination after arriving in Austin without their AWPer Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli, due to visa complications.

Jadan “HexT” Postma’s ace play set an early competitive tone for NRG. Although Complexity displayed moments of brilliance from players like Johnny “JT” Theodosiou and Danny “Cxzi” Strzelczyk, they could not overcome persistent offensive inconsistencies. To avoid an early exit, Complexity must secure victories in their remaining matches.

Imperial Esports Preserves Their Major Dreams; Metizport Exits

Imperial Esports kept their Major aspirations alive by decisively eliminating Metizport with a 2-0 sweep. The Brazilian squad edged out a hard-fought victory on Nuke in overtime (16-13) before overwhelming the Swedish team on Dust2 with a blistering 13-2 scoreline. Santino “try” Rigal delivered standout AWP performances across both maps, while Kaiky “noway” Santos made a significant impact with a critical pistol round triple on Dust2, solidifying their route to victory. Metizport, on the other hand, concluded their journey in Austin with a disappointing 0-3 record.

Chinggis Warriors Surprise with Fluxo Elimination

In one of the day’s most unexpected outcomes, Chinggis Warriors eliminated Brazilian squad Fluxo with a 2-1 series victory. After a narrow loss on Ancient (10-13) to the dominant Kayke “kye” Bertolucci, the Mongolian team rallied to take Mirage (13-11) and then decisively overran Fluxo on Nuke (13-2).

Unudelger “controlez” Baasanjargal led the charge with impressive statistics on the final two maps, including a standout 1.68 rating on Nuke. Despite Matheus “mlhzin” Marçola’s promising performance on Mirage, Fluxo ultimately succumbed to errors in post-plant situations and mental fatigue. In-game leader Andrei “arT” Piovezan expressed the weight of the loss, labeling it as "the worst" he has experienced in his career.
